deFlorian®™ bedding
deFlorian bedding is a slow-fashion label. Made of air-rich natural gauze fabrics, our beddings are created with much care and love, step by step, by our family. We carefully select the right natural premium fibres. We enrich the fabrics by using our own Air Soft Technology. We keep them raw or natural - as the case for the Natural or White collection, or we dye them in small batches in our work-shop using Swiss GOTS certified dyes, eco-friendly and durable. We keep the patience, slow-processing, gentle finish and attention to details, protecting the natural fibres all throughout our production process. Then, as we spend a third of our lives dreaming, we transform all of these carefully crafted steps into a perfect naturally balanced ecosystem. Soft, air-rich beddings, inspired by nature, with a twist of contemporary aesthetics, that let the skin breathe easily and insure a perfect 4-season thermal comfort. As we value time, we give a special attention to a light and easy maintenance, which does not require ironing.
Air Soft Technology®
At the border of hand-made and industrial, our finishing technique is unique and innovative. Our deFlorian beddings are made of fabrics produced with our own Air Soft Technology, an authentic Romanian technology created by us during more than 25 years of textile research. Air Soft Technology is a modern approach to the old way the Romanian peasants used to hand-weave and prepare the home-made fabrics by the river under the sun. Thus, keeping our fabrics as close as possible to their natural state.
Unique
Each deFlorian bedding colour is unique - as they are made of natural fabrics and processed at the border of hand-made and industrial. The natural colour of the yarns may vary, depending on how much sun, rain or wind they had while growing. Therefore, natural colour may be lighter or darker. Also, due to the Air Soft Technology and the small batch dyeing technique, the final appearance of each of our solid eco-colours may be 1 or 2 tones more/less intense.
Packing – with care for the nature
We have reinvented the sensory experience of a packing made of natural paper, in a reusable eco-friendly textile backpack version, made of dense, thick cotton, specially crafted in our workshop. All the details have been patiently developed with Romanian artists: the special design, the stitched seams, the embroidery and the handmade ceramic button. We support local creativity by working with Romanian artists and designers.
Care instructions
We kept each bedding as close as possible to its natural state. Try to do the same while taking care of it. For any new deFlorian bedding, no wash-before-wear is required as it's already been washed and steamed at the end of the production process. Wash each colour separately to avoid any dye transfer between different colours and shades. We use long-lasting eco-colorants, insuring the colour will keep its brightness and stay the same wash after wash, but only if washed separately, following the temperature and care indications. For white colours - use special white-cotton detergents, while for natural or coloured, use special colour-cotton detergents. For white, bleach only when needed, using oxygenated formula. Do not use chlorine, as it deteriorates natural fibers. For natural and colour - do not bleach. Although in white and natural our beddings may be washed at 90°C - as they are made of pure cotton - we recommend not to wash them at more than 50°C, in order to keep their nice appearance and initial sizes. For coloured, try not to wash them at more than 30°C - in order to keep unaltered the long-lasting colour shades. Use laundry softener for a tender soft touch. Dry them in the clothes-dryer at cotton temperature or out in the sun, as our colorants have a high sunlight resistance. As we value time, we give a special attention to a light and easy maintenance, which does not require ironing. If this step is necessary, we recommend steaming at the specific cotton temperature.
